If enough of them are able to reach the main base they will produce the Baneblade relic unit. As mentioned in the intro movie for the map, periodically a convoy consisting of one light transport vehicle will leave from one of the outer bases headed towards the main one in the northeast.

Destroy the cannon to prevent this from happening. If an artillery spotter can get a bead on you it will fire on your forces and/or base. There is an enhanced Basilisk cannon, significantly larger than normal, in the middle of the map. A rather typical grind through to the main structure to destroy it. This stronghold is a relatively straightforward one multiple bases scattered around the map, the final goal is to destroy the main command center in the largest base the furthest away from you (at the north east corner), smaller bases around the area can be destroyed to stop the production of certain unit types like the fighter bombers. You start at the south-western-most corner with a regular startup base, hero and honor guard. The Dussala Precinct is the stronghold for the Imperial Guard. These convoys, then, were to be the Imperial Guard's weakest link and also their greatest hope. Repair parts, munitions, and operating crews were moved via a system of convoys to the centrally located Mars Pattern buildings which produced the tanks. The Dussala Precinct headquarters was thus left without a single Baneblade to its advantage. Unfortunately, a full regiment of Baneblade tanks, the Imperial Guard's armored super-weapon, had that very day been dispatched to various territories throughout the Kaurava system.

General Stubbs was determined to triumph in the face of this and all other adversity. Since the outbreak of the Warp Storm on Kaurava IV, the Imperial Guard had known a humbling series of setbacks - losing a full three quarters of their fighting men was just a start. Any attacker wuold find themselves facing a formidable amount of firepower. Under the strong and capable leadership of their new Governor-General, Vance Stubbs, the Guardsmen were once again well supplied, armed, and organized. The Imperial Guard's headquarters, in the Dussala Precinct of the city-planet of Kaurava I, was also the system's primary Baneblade production facility.
